Robe à l'anglaise & full unadorned petticoat of multi floral sprig broche’ on starkly geometric & floral patterned ground, likely designed by Anna Maria Garthwaite c. 1742, 20” selvage to selvage w/ 33” pattern repeat, 18th linen bodice lining w/ inner lacing, B 39”, W 31”, L 58”-66”, petticoat W 30”-32”, L 39”, (minor discoloration, bodice front & slvs reworked w/ lining possibly reused, CB petticoat restored w/ period & newer silks, 2.5” opening w/ minor shatter CF right bodice & 1” CF left, 3” opening left W, 1”-5” openings b/t skirt panels & few sm at underarms, sm light spot stains, 0.25” hole front left hem, few sm skilled repairs CB skirt, petticoat w/ few tiny-0.25” holes, Wband & ties shattered, few 0.5”-0.75” splits CF below Wband) Very Good.
